The Attorney General is appointed by the Head of State on the advice of the Prime Minister and the constitutional Principal Law Officer of the country in accordance with the common law principles. The Attorney General of Samoa holds office as an official of Government and is not a Minister of Cabinet.

The mission of the Attorney General’s Office is to serve the people of Samoa by upholding the constitution and providing the highest quality legal services to the Government. The Government of Samoa is our main client and we provide legal services to the Head of State, Prime Minister, Cabinet, Ministers, Government Ministries and, where appropriate, to other Government Agencies.
